I have always had an interest in people and in interacting with people on a personal level. I originally trained as a primary school teacher in Germany (my country of origin) and have a Masters in Education.
In Ireland I attained a professional qualification in counselling which is recognised by the IACP and am working as a counsellor ( MIACP) in private practice in Kenmare, Co Kerry.
I work with adults in a one-to-one setting, as well as with couples.
Suicide Therapy and prevention is a special interest of mine, and I am a Contextual-Conceptual Therapy associate and the founder of
CCT-Ireland. CCT (Contextual-Conceptual Therapy) is the only Suicide Therapy I know of, and I went to Seattle, U.S.A., to study with CCT founder, Fredric Matteson, at The Contextual-Conceptual Therapy Center in Seattle (for more information choose CCT from the menue).
What I love most about my work as a counsellor is how humbling it is to engage with my clients on a deep and meaningful level.
After undergoing training with the HSE I am also a
LivingWorks safeTALK
Trainer and endeavour to help make Kenmare a suicide safer community by frequently delivering this free suicide awareness workshop in the wider Kenmare area. Please get in touch with me if you or the organisation you work with would like to organise a safeTALK.
